Moriarity is in the proofing stage now. And new Holmes pix.

I just ordered the proof for my Moriarity novel. It's looking pretty good, but I like to see the hard copy to see how it feels in my hands.

The novel has a bonus feature at the back of it. A hugeeeeee portion of my Journey to the Center of the Earth novel is there as a bonus for everyone who purchases the book.

I should have the hard copy by the end of next week. If it's a go, then I'll have hard copies available within two days.

I also sent my Journey to the Center of the Earth novel for review and if it passes muster, I'll be ordering a proof of that as well and it should be available several days after.

Superman flies in again to entertain us.

The "Billion Dollar Limited" is another of the cool Max Fleischer animations made back in the early forties to uplift and entertain our troops and fellow citizens.

Yup!

Every time the you know what hits the fan, fantasy and imaginative films get made in huge droves so everyone can escape the harsh realities of their lives for a time.

And since we are still in the midst of a pretty nasty depression...which the uppers adroitly call a recession, or mild decline...we need this kind of entertainment, because it sure doesn't look like we're going to get any relief from those in charge...they're too busy squabbling like a bunch of drunks!

Chapte One, Command Cody in Radar Men From the Moon...an older Rocketman concept

Tonight I got a treat for everyone. Commando Cody from the old Republic Serial "Rader Men From the Moon."

That old serial actually had Leonard Nimoy as one of the villains in the serial. It's really a tickle to see him there.

I'll post a new episode at least once a week.

I've been working all day on the cover for the Journey to the Center of the Earth Novel. I think you're going to like it. Hope to finish it tomorrow.

I'm waiting to hear from the publisher so I can get all the specs right for it.

The novel has a a bonus section with a big chunk of my new "Moriarity" novel at the end.

Sort of my way of giving you a Marvel Movie treat at the end after the trailers end.

I've also been piling my pinterest site with tons of blurbs on Journey to the Center of the Earth, from the original Jules Verne novel to the more modern movie version staring Brendan Frasier.

Got some cool movie trailers in there, and also a lot of research stuff I did for  the novels. I say novels, because this novel is but the first of a project trilogy. I suspect it might even run longer than that, because there's so many stories to cover as the plot thickens, unfolds, and then wraps with a conclusion I'm sure most of you won't be expecting.

But on the way to the end of the trilogy I plan on giving you a hair raising ride with bravery, heroics, friendship and self sacrifice that will make you weep, laugh and cry for the greatness of the human spirit and for the denial of others.

The Moriarity Cover is done and up for viewing

I gave this a lot of thought.

Originally, I was going to call my novel "The Adventures of Professor Moriarity."

But then I got to thinking about it and it didn't quite feel right. Yes, Moriarity is in the novel, and many, many times over, but this is a different take on Moriarity.

It's a what if. What if Moriarity had taken a different turn in his life. What if the infinite choices we all have to choose from hadn't led to him becoming the despised and awful villain of the cannon of Sherlock Holmes stories we've all become familiar with.

What if this Moriarity was physically the same perhaps, but also of a kinder bent?

What if this Moriarity was as brilliant as Sherlock Holmes and the Professor Moriarity, but instead of being cold and intellectual, he was warm and jovial?

What kind of Moriarity would this man be?

In this novel I explore his relationship to the old one through the relationships of people who knew him when he wasn't so nice.

This may not make sense on some levels, and normally it wouldn't. People pretty much stay the same all their lives. If they are evil in nature, they seldom change. If they are kind in nature, they seldom change.

Humanity is not known for evolving positive characteristics in a rapid manner, but rather over long courses of time...and if you believe in reincarnation....many lifetimes.

And so I came up with this novel.

I will let you know when the tradebook is available. But for now I'm posting an image of the front cover. The book weighs in at over three hundred pages and I've loaded at the end of it a good portion of my second novel which will be in print soon, Journey to the Center of the Earth.

I'm still working on Journey's edit, but hopefully I will have that one ready for print in the next week or so.

A little movie nostlgia about Rocketman.

I thought it would be fun to post a lot of images of how a Rocketman might be depicted. A lof of different artists and film makers have had takes on the original flying suit man from the old Republic Serials.

In 1949 there was a serial released named "King of the Rocketmen." A scientist named Jeff King, and played by the actor Tristram Coffin, strapped on a very light looking rocket suit that was powered by attomic energy and had a very aerodynamic shaped helmet. He also had a ray gun.

 King of the Rocketmen was released by Republic Studios in 1949 and ran for a stunning 14 chapters, using stunts and more stunts, and lots of found footage to give it a larger scope and feel.

Not unlike what our less expensive films of today utilize in order to keep costs down and profits high.

While not from the movies or serials, I thought it appropriate to include this song from Sir Elton John. An aptly titled song, "Rocketman."

And of course no Rocketman blog would be complete without real Rocketmen daring the atmosphere with bombs attached to their backs and a cute child dressed up to fly away in his rocket suit.

The next major attempt at telling stories of men in flying suits was Rocketeer which started as a comic book and then was launched into a full blown movie that never quite got off the ground, even though it had all the right elements.

The pose that, on the ground at least, the jet flying man will be remembered for. "Don't move or I'll blast you!"

"It would seem Sherlock that we  have finally caught the culprit who was sabotaging Mister Pirillo's author site."

"I heartily agree, dear Watson. A most scandroulus situation has been nipped in the bud."

"What do you suggest we do about it? Doctor Watson asked.

"Why not give them the link so they can see all the dastardly things that Mr. Pirillo has been doing in his spare time."

Doctor Watson chuckles. "What spare time?"

"Why, his play time, his sleeping time and his lunch time, of course.

"But how could you possibly know that, Sherlock?" Doctor Watson gasped in surprise.

"Elementary, really. Were he an ordinary human being he would be sleeping a full eight to ten hours every night. He would be stuffing his face with scones...."

"Wait!" Watson interrupted. "That's what I do!"

"Quite right, dear fellow, and you would do well to stop that, or you'll get fat!"

"Uh, huh, I see." Doctor Watson said in a grumbly voice. "So what else clued you in to this man's tireless behavior?"

"The fact that he has been up for several hours already typing this little story before he even thinks of going downstairs to make his morning meal."

Sherlock turned around and looked up at Watson, then took a quick puff on his pipe. "I suggest we get properly dressed, because he's about to put us through some horrible conditions in our next story, " The Case of the Vanishing Hero."

"What manner of clothing?" Watson insisted on knowing.

Sherlock rose from his comfortable position and stretched. "That, my dear Watson, is for the author to tell. Now let us prepare!"

"Very well." Watson replied, grabbing a scone from the plate Mrs. Hudson had left for him, and hoping Sherlock hadn't seen him pocket several more. "I will post the link here right away!"

"Great, Watson. Now let us hurry: 'The Game's Afoot.'"

Journey to the Center of the Earth novel is finished!

Over the weekend I was one busy little beaver.

I finished the final edit of my Journey to the Center of the Earth novel. I will post the cover in the next day or so.

I hope to publish that to a tradebook version as well. I'll keep you posted as to the progress of that as I am able.

Meanwhile, the first novel is a greatly expanded version of the first eight stories I told about the Journey and more connected. I had a lot of fun expanding the characters and giving them more cool things to do as they go deeper beneath our planet.

Hopefully, their journey will ask questions in your mind about many things that we take for granted, but perhaps won't afterwards.

I had a lot of fun expanding and joining everything and I think it's a great read at over three hundred and fifty pages!

Captain Nemo's Nautilus artwork posted

I have just finished the cover to my new novel about Moriarity and hope to have the final editing done before the end of the week. I should have the digital version published on Amazon and Smashwords by Friday.

I'll post the new cover when I get time.

Meanwhile, above is an illustration I made of Captain Nemo's Nautilus, which is used in my Moriarity novel. I think it's really sleek looking and fits the style of the alternate world of Moriarity.

The Scorpion King

For all you folks who enjoy Mister Johnson, here's another photo.

Well, he looked pretty good and offered a new hero to the masses in the Scorpion King. Little did they know their villain would turn out to become a good guy later on. Dwayne Johnson rules in the muscleman roles these days.
