Dean Devlin, one half the team of the original Stargate movie team is back to write sequels and a reboot. Wow! About time. Loved the movie and really loved the SG-1 series starring Richard Dean Anderson, who brought the whole thing together in a way that I think even Dean Devlin couldn't have imagined.
Here's hoping the reboot is a bit lighter than the original movie was as such a heavy thing as subjugation of entire worlds and the slaughter of innocents is very hard to swallow if it's too serious, which might explain why the TV series did so much better than the original movie.

Further update: The next Stargate movie should be going into production soon. Roland Emmerich is just waiting for the script to be completed now and then we're back where we want to be.
